The world consumed 8 billion tonnes of coal in 2021, the highest amount in the last decade. And the International Energy Agency estimates that 2023 could see coal demand hit a new record, after a small increase in 2022 due to China's property crisis and Beijing's continued zero-carbon policy.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
